2021 Gulf Swim University Details

Semester runs from Jan 1, 2021 to Apr 30, 2021

All swimmers will earn a custom designed t-shirt for their efforts in this FREE event. Awards are based on the total miles swum and logged in during the entire semester. The award categories are:
  • 20 to 39 miles earns an Associate Degree and a Green T-shirt
  • 40 to 79 miles earns a Bachelors Degree and a Blue T-shirt
  • 80 to 119 miles earns a Double  Major and a Navy T-shirt
  • 120 to 159 miles earns a Masters Degree and a Red T-shirt
  • 160 and above earns an impressive PhD and a Purple T-shirt
Here are the steps to sign up and earn credit for every mile you swim - 
  1. Email our fitness chair, Rebecca Tompkins, at GulfMastersSwimEvents@gmail.com. Make sure to let her know you are participating and give her your Team affiliation and mailing address. 
  2. Go to USMS.org, My USMS, My Fitness Log. Once there, enter the FREE Go The Distance event 
  3. Easily track your mileage by logging on to My Fitness Log and click on a date to enter your distance swum.
  4. Just go to the pool, swim, have fun and get fit! Remember to log in your distance swum. 
It's that easy! Your 2021 USMS/Gulf membership automatically qualifies you for this FREE event. T-shirts are typically delivered in July.
